Harrry Pott.... I mean Radcliffe in another movie?!

Daniel Radcliffe will be playing a lawyer in the movie The Woman in Black.

This is a little weird. I personally was hoping Radcliffe's career would end with Harry Potter. He's spent like 10 years of his life on it! I honestly can't see him as anything other than Harry Potter. Even while looking at the pictures I still see it. I personally don't care much for him as an actor, but then again I'm not the one with a butt load of money. Thoughts?

Trailer Thoughts: Sucker Punch

When waiting for Due Date to start I was lucky enough to see the trailer for Warner Brothers' upcoming movie, Sucker Punch!

Pretty sweet looking right?! Hot girls, guns, swords, robots, dragons! What does this movie not have that is totally badass?! While watching the trailer my thoughts were "I have no idea what that movie is about but I want to see it!"

While this movie does not look Oscar worthy it certainly does provide a lot of sweet eye candy. I hope this turns out to be just as good as the trailer! Hopefully as the release date approaches they will provide us with a little more information.

New on DVD: Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World

Today on DVD is Scott Pilgrim Vs. the world! Possibly one of my favorite movies of all time. Why? because it was AWSOME!

Last week Toy Story 3 was released on DVD (they sure spit that one out fast.) While it was possibly the best animated feature this year, I didn't get my hands on it to pick it up.

I've been waiting for the past month for this DVD release and I'm sure others have too.

Kung Fu Panda 2 Teaser Trailer Thoughts

The teaser trailer for Kung Fu Panda 2 has been released!

Kung Fu Panda was possibly one of my all time favorite Dreamworks animated films ever!
I'm super excited to see how this sequel will turn out.

My only problem is that most sequels never....I mean NEVER match up to the first one. The irony of the situation is gone. We no longer want to know how this fat panda becomes a kung fu master. That story has already been shown. So what happens next?

Hopefully Dreamworks can pull it off but I'm a little skeptical. The trailer doesn't show anything about the plot, but it is extremely funny. Then again thats what a teaser trailer is for anyways. I stared back the whole time! I only hope the future trailers will give us a good look at what we're going to be in for.

MegaMind....Is it worth my time? (Good or Bad Movie?)

Disney's MegaMind is now in theaters and I don't know if I should see it. This is probably the one pixar film that when I saw the preview, I didn't lean over to my friend and say "That looks good!" I did this in both instances when I saw the previews for WALL-E and Up.

Based on the review's I have noticed on rottentomatoes.com, my thoughts on the movie weren't too far off from the target. It just seems like a middle school boy's fantasy with a pretty crappy story in my opinion. If you went to see it, you should let me know how you felt about it.

Due Date Movie Review

Architect Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) is trying to get home to his pregnant wife who is expecting soon when he comes into contact with Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) an aspiring actor. After a series of unfortunate event's Peter and Zach get kicked off of their plane and end up carpooling to get home. These two characters confront several obstacles on their way home that seem impossible to recover from.

Due Date is oddly low rated and I wonder if some critics saw the same movie I did. While I'm sure this movie isn't the next The Hangover it surely doesn't deserve such a low rating. The story isn't too great this is more of a new age of humor that was brought about due to movies like The Hangover and "Superbad"  which sold like crazy to young audiences who find this more grotesque humor involving masturbation and bodily fluids wildly entertaining. Older audiences aren't going to enjoy it as much.

This is basically the same scenario as Planes, Trains, and Automobiles where you have two opposite characters who must work together to achieve the goal of getting home. This movie does not quite have the story and moments moments that really provoked strong emotion like in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles it does provide the laughter with some pretty bizarre scenarios. Robert Downey Jr. and Galifianakis is a weird combo but I believed that this movie really pulled it off.

While it isn't AMAZING it is still a decent movie to go see and provides some good laughs if you are in to that kind of humor.
I give this movie a 6 out of 10

Paranormal Activity 2 Review

Bumps in the night and scary things return in Paranormal Activity 2. This time the haunting isn't happening to Micah and Katie, but are now happening to Katie's sister and her family. Kristi and Daniel Rey begin to experience some odd things in their house after their son is born. These start with small things such as the pool cleaner climbing out of the pool at night and eventually grow out of control where people in the house are dragged down stairs.

Paranormal Activity 2 is not the sequel to Paranormal Activity but actually the prequel. This gives some nice backstory to the first one and overall turned out to be pretty decent. The effects were nice much like the first one. The feel of a handheld camera and the look through the security cameras really make this movie, much like the first one, feel real. That is what I believe makes audiences freak out, the fact that they aren't seeing it through an expensive hollywood camera but through the eyes of something that is physically present in the house. Some of the moments in Paranormal Activity 2 don't really fulfill their purpose though. Some of the things that are meant to scare you actually turn out quite comical I will not mention these to avoid spoiling anyone's experience.
While Paranormal Activity 2 is more of the same it still makes a nice chill run down your spine and really works well with the first one. I was quite happy that the two stories were tied together. Let's just prey that they don't try to milk this for all it's worth and make a third one. Can we please let this end on a good note and not turn out like the god awful Saw franchise which died after the second one?
I give it a 6.5 out of 10

Fantastic Mr. Fox Review

Mr. Fox has chosen to give up his life of bird stealing in a promise to his wife and becomes a newspaper writer. After leading a very dull rest of his life he decides to purchase a new house and soon gets caught up in his old ways when he discover's he lives near three farmers. After the farmers realize what is going on they decide to retaliate and attempt to kill Mr. Fox and his family. Check out "Fantastic Mr. Fox" to see their fight for survival.

Witty dialogue and a very comical style of animation really set this movie apart from others. Fantastic Mr. Fox is amazing and has a superb cast which really help tie this masterpiece together. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature, and Best Original Score at the 82nd Academy Awards and lost to Pixar's animated film Up. As I watched this movie I was amazed at how much character was portrayed in these animated animals. The crazy eyes of Kyler Sven Opossm and the trademark "whistle and click" of Mr. Fox are just a couple of the little touches that really bring out the character's in this film and really instill them in your head.
The voice acting in Fantastic Mr. Fox is phenomenal with great actors such as George Clooney (Mr. Fox), Meryl Streep (Mrs. Fox), and Bill Murray (Clive Badger). The comedy in this movie never seems to run dry. I let out some really good laughs during the movie, and it is pretty funny to see the situations Mr. Fox gets in and how he handles them.
I did not read the book, I didn't even know it was based on a book, but I would say it does the book well. This is a great movie and can for sure provide entertainment for anyone.
I give it a 9 out of 10
