The Hangover Part II trailer thoughts

Well if you've checked in to the bigger sites already such as IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes you probably know that the teaser trailer for The Hangover Part II was released today and I have to say it doesn't look half bad.

I really hope they can pull off a sequel, because The Hangover was one of the better comedies I've seen in awhile. I'm not a huge fan of the comedy genre, because lately they all have become lame and are only worth a few laughs. The only movies that seem to make great comedies are animated features. The Hangover though was one of those comedies that just....worked. The story was ironic, the characters were hilarious, and it was strong all the way until the end. Lets hope that Todd Phillips can stay that strong with the sequel.

Really the only information you can find on the movie is "Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug travel to Bangkok for Stu's wedding." -IMDb. Which is what really sucks about a teaser trailer, you don't really get much from it. From what I saw, I really cant tell whether this will be good or bad, but I really don't like Galifianakis' haircut in this one, but that's really the only negative thing I can say about the teaser trailer.

Usually when Hollywood decides to make a sequel to a movie it doesn't turn out well, and while I hope that The Hangover Part II proves that wrong, I just don't see it being as big of a hit. We get the story, a group of friends wakes up after a hard night and tries to find their friend and recover their memory from the night before, but I'm afraid if they take that approach it's just not going to be as memorable. When you do the same thing in a different setting, it just....loses the irony and cleverness that the first one had.

I'm not saying this won't be funny, I'm just saying I don't think it will be as hard hitting. Tell me what you think.

Sleeping beauty told from the princess' point of view.....FAIL!

Of course with it being Hollywood they have to cash in on what is called a "pre-sold franchise" when they see one. And I know I mentioned earlier this week that its better to take a new approach to an old idea than it is to just flat out remake it, but come on....I meant do it in a creative way! Not a flat out stupid one!

First off, if for some strange reason you don't know the story of sleeping beauty....it's about a princess who can only be woken up by true love's kiss. She receives that kiss later on from a prince and they live happily ever after. Anyways on to my rant.....

How do you write a movie about a sleeping princess....from the princess' point of view? I don't exactly know but someone seemed to pull it off.

When I first saw the tweet about this from IMDB I thought to myself "Oh great a movie of nothing but blackness." Once I looked further into it I found out that it is actually about the princess' struggle to fight through the dream world to wake up. The only problem I see with that is there is really no connection between the princess' dream and the prince kissing her....

We all have seen how these rehashed fairy tales seem to play out with the total bomb of Red Riding Hood, and with the looks of it there is A LOT more to come. I honestly hope Hollywood gives up on this failure waiting to happen....

Rubber?

No. Not condoms. First off I would like to apologize to you guys for not making a post since I've been on HQS, and to Devin. School has been pretty hectic and dealing with a broken computer doesn't help at all. Along with the transition of a new job. Anyway, excuses excuses. I know, I'm sorry!

So, let's get to it. Director Quentin Dupieux is releasing a new film, titled 'Rubber.' The story of an inatimate tire who finds love, has telepathy, and a whole bunch of other crazy stuff. Though the film looks very unique in itself, I am not one for personification when it comes to objects such as, a tire. I absolutely despise 'Cars' In that fact. It's just not my thing. You can view the trailer in the link below, i'd love to hear what you guys think about it.

Kung Fu Panda writers signed on to write Candy Land......lolwut?

Yeah.....I know what you're thinking, because I am thinking the exact same thing. The writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger who also wrote Kung Fu Panda have now signed on to write a movie based on Candy Land the childhood game.

I'm pretty sure I never played Candy Land or really wanted to play it. How do you write a screenplay for a board game.....Universal really fluged up this one. Who can blame them though, this is the studio that thought a movie about Stretch Armstrong and Battleship was genius!

From what I've read the project has had several writers and has been in production since 2008. What makes Universal think they can pull this off when you have to go through multiple writers just to remain on square one! (forgive the pun)

Well Universal I have some advice for the future when you decide to make another bad deal such as making a movie based on Rock'em Sock'em Robots, which now that I said that you probably will......but my advice is please don't waste the money and please give us something original. I know originality is hard to come by in Hollywood, but we really need some.

Playing Candy Land will make you look like this --->

Sucker Punch wasn't as hard hitting as we may have thought

I was definitely excited for Zach Snyder's new film Sucker Punch, but it doesn't seem like everyone is enjoying it for what it is. I went to the midnight showing and on a personal level I enjoyed the movie, but I also went into the movie and saw it for what it was. A big effect heavy visually stunning erection giver!

This is definitely a guy movie which most of you should be able to tell by the trailer. So I wouldn't suggest taking your girlfriend to see it unless you feel like explaining why you would rather look at the screen than her.

Many critics are bashing Sucker Punch, and I mean BASHING it, and I fully agree with their comments on it. This is definitely not a movie I say is good, but it does provide some good entertainment with is sexy women, excellent fight scenes, and stunning visuals which Snyder is noted for.

Overall Sucker Punch isn't really good...it's more cool and fun to watch, but don't go into it thinking it's going to be amazing. Watch the movie for what it is and you won't be too disappointed.

I say if you want to see hot girls and badass action...go see it this weekend.

I'll have a full review up by the end of this weekend.

MGM is back in action, but only on uncreative crutches

MGM has stepped back into the ring but they aren't quite ready to stand on their own two feet yet. MGM is planning on reviving their old franchises such as Child's Play, Robocop, and Poltergeist. This really makes me a tad upset that the only thing Hollywood thinks is entertainment is these revisited franchises. Sure it seems like people would want to see these old films redone in the new technology, but what Hollywood doesn't realize is that they are going to get the same response "Wasn't as good as the original."

If you haven't noticed, creative and original ideas are what seem to really sell lately. Think Avatar, The King's Speech, and Inception. These movies aren't remakes of old movies. Some of them are old ideas such as Avatar's story which is very similar to Pocahontas, but it was twisted around and made into a whole new movie that was executed fantastically.

Hollywood please realize that remakes aren't what we want to see. If you really want to revive the industry keep giving us original and creative ideas, and if you do want to bring an old story back to life...please put a creative twist on it.

Animation inspired by Sucker Punch!

Hey guys just browsing some entertainment news today and I stumbled upon an animation inspired by the upcoming movie Sucker Punch!
Now if your excited for Sucker Punch like me you have to admit that is really freaking awesome!
That is some of the coolest animation I've ever seen! You can really tell the detail and time that was put into it. The debris blowing around was a really nice touch. Now I honestly don't know much about Sucker Punch, but from what I gathered this is part of the back story of one of the enemies the girls face in the movie. I hope to get  a review up for Sucker Punch after going to see the midnight release for you guys.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think about the animation. Also let me know what your expectations are for Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch.
